Having valid email addresses will help you keep in touch with your clients and prevent getting blacklisted as a spam domain.
Sending multiple emails to non-existent email addresses might be considered as spam activity and resulting in getting blacklisted as a spam domain. All emails sent from a spam domain, will land in the spam/bulk folder of your valuable Customers.
Better safe, than sorry: install email confirmation module and block users with fake addresses. Upon registering, the user will receive a link in the 'Welcome' email and will be denied access to My Account area until the link isn't followed. The confirmation status of each email address is displayed in the Back Office of your Prestashop Installation, at the list of Customers, from where you can delete the users registered with unconfirmed email address.
The access of Customers registered prior to installing the module, won't be limited or affected.
